Place an order on phone or desktop

Understand what customers do between completing a Neartail form and sending the order summary in WhatsApp.

Give customers the form link so they can choose products and see the amount before chatting. On the device they use, the handoff opens the available WhatsApp app or web experience.

On a phone

  1. Open the Neartail form in the phone's browser.
  2. Choose the items, quantities, and options. Review the summary and amount.
  3. Enter the required customer and handoff details.
  4. Use the form's submit action to continue to WhatsApp.
  5. Check the destination and prepared message, then press Send.

If the phone asks which app should open the link, choose the WhatsApp experience used for that customer's account. A customer who does not use WhatsApp needs an alternative ordering route from your business.

On a computer

Customers complete the form in the same way. The WhatsApp link may open the desktop app or WhatsApp Web. They may need to sign in or link their WhatsApp account before they can send the prepared message.

Explain what confirms the order

Use your submit message to tell customers whether the saved form, the sent WhatsApp message, or a staff reply confirms the order. For example, if staff must approve a delivery slot, say that the team will reply to confirm it.

Sending the message is not proof of payment. Direct customers to the payment route your business actually uses.

If WhatsApp opens without the expected destination or summary, see WhatsApp troubleshooting. If staff need the order for preparation, use the saved response rather than asking customers to retype the products.
